Dancing Voices

Away without words or dreams

dance the girl down the street

at the rhythm of the tambours,

noise from the past

and ritual crowd of voices.

Freedom and indifference fills the air

around the walls of trees,

defining every step of the journey

between pallid yellow lights

and parked cars without souls.

With no need for sense or excuses

the little girl dance the world

hoping someone will see her,

out and around the street

suffering her solitude.
